The use of rowing boats, sail boats, kayaks, and canoes not only pose a property risk from theft and accidental damage, but also open up a number of potential liabilities which not only include the user of the craft, but the Students’ Union itself.

The standard cover under our small craft policy includes the following:
- Loss or damage to your craft by fire, theft, accidental or malicious damage and includes associated equipment, outboard motors and trailers that have been declared on the policy.
- Legal liability insurance to third parties for up to £3,000,000 any one incident, reducing to £1,500,000 in respect of water skiing, kite-surfing and wakeboarding.
- Territorial limits, which include the inland and coastal waters of the United Kingdom and Europe, up to 12 nautical miles offshore.
- Loss or damage to craft whilst in transit on the road.
