Added to this, with many Students’ Unions now registering as charities, protection is sought for trustees, both internal and external.
Endsleigh has operated a Directors’ & Officers’ Liability Scheme for over 10 years, designed with students’ unions in mind. The term directors’ & officers’ is widened to include sabbatical officers, welfare advisors, volunteers, trustees, committee members and any member of staff acting in their professional duty at the Union. The policy also protects the Union itself as an entity.
Wrongful acts covered under the policy would include an actual or alleged:
- Breach of duty.
- Breach of trust.
- Incidence of Negligence, Error, Misstatement, or Omission.
- Breach of Warranty of Authority.
- Incidence of Libel or Slander.
If you run an advice centre at the Union, cover is afforded under the policy, on the presumption that advice is given without a fee.
Fidelity guarantee insurance.
This type of insurance is known by several different names including:
- Theft by employee.
- Employee dishonesty.
Fidelity guarantee insurance protects an organisation against the misappropriation of goods or money by staff. This cover can be added to your directors’ & officers’ liability insurance policy where we have negotiated competitive premiums.
