End of year parties, student union balls and festivals provide students with some of the best memories of their time at university. Organising such events takes time and careful planning, but a last minute problem with the weather or the site, leading to cancellation, could leave you with unavoidable fixed costs to cover.
Endsleigh has teamed up with a number of specialist insurers to provide a range of cancellation and abandonment insurances, which can cover budgeted expenses, and/or loss of profit.
We are able to arrange policies to cover the following incidents:
- Adverse weather conditions.
An event being ‘rained-off’ or cancellation due to dangerous winds etc.
- Damage to the venue.
E.g. a flood or fire preventing you from using the planned venue.
- Restriction of access to the venue.
Such as action by the police preventing access to the venue.
- Reduced attendance.
Where you are obliged to make refunds where a significant number of guests cannot travel to the venue due to circumstances beyond their or your control.
- Key person non-attendance.
Where you are forced to cancel the event, or are obliged to make refunds due to the non-appearance of a speaker or headline act.
- Terrorism.
You should also consider other risks that organising a special event can bring:
- Public liability insurance.
Protection against claims from third parties for death, bodily injury or damage to third party property.
- Hired-in equipment.
“All risks” cover for marquees, sound and audio equipment temporarily hired in for your event.
- Money.
Cover for cash at the event site.
- Stock.
Protection against loss or damage to your bar and catering stock at the event site.
If you hold a students’ union combined policy with Endsleigh, some of the covers may available as extensions to your existing policy.
